American Financial Management (AFM) is a national investment advisory firm that serves individual and business investors. We employ a momentum-based, quantitative process for determining sub-account selection in mutual fund, variable annuity, and variable universal life programs. AFM is a Securities and Exchange Commission Registered Investment Advisor founded in 1983.
What is AFM’s minimum account size?
At AFM we believe all investors can appreciate our services. Our low $10,000 minimum allows nearly everyone to participate.
Is it necessary to change investment companies (i.e. mutual fund, variable annuity or variable universal life) to take advantage of AFM’s asset allocation services?
Unlike most other Investment Advisors today, AFM manages accounts with nearly 150 investment firms. It is likely that we already manage accounts with your company (or we can). Unless you have other reasons to move your money, you may simply add AFM’s asset allocation services to your current account.
What is STAIRS®?
STAIRS® is our proprietary process for sub-account review. It stands for Sub-account Technical Allocation Investment Review System. This system consolidates a number of well-founded investment approaches and applies them to the available sub-accounts within your existing investment program.
Why is Sub Account Allocation Important?
Many financial professionals feel that the ability to exchange money between sub-accounts is one of very few factors that can be controlled in a mutual fund, variable annuity, or variable universal life program and as such is a valuable tool in pursuing returns while managing risk. Numerous well-known studies have shown that asset class selection can have an overwhelming impact on return.
What strategies are available?
